Sustainability training that changes how teams work.
Training is often treated as awareness. The better opportunity is capability: helping people use sustainability in decisions, projects and conversations.

Many teams have heard the language of ESG, net zero and circular economy, but they are not always sure how those ideas apply to their role. That gap can slow progress. People may support the direction, but still lack the confidence to challenge assumptions, redesign work or explain the case for change.
Effective sustainability training starts with the audience. A leadership team needs a different session from a project team, a university cohort, a group of researchers or a delivery partner. The content should meet people where they are and then move them towards practical application.
Three features make training useful.
Shared language, so people can discuss sustainability without confusion.
Applied exercises, so ideas are tested against real work and decisions.
Action planning, so participants leave with next steps and ownership.
InnovaNexus designs workshops around practical outcomes. A session might help participants map sustainability risks, develop a net zero action plan, improve a funding proposal, identify circular economy opportunities or define how a research project creates impact.
Experience providing sustainability-related training with ACU and contributing as a guest speaker in relation to the Horizon Europe UNDERTREES project has reinforced a simple lesson: people engage when the material is connected to their world.
The aim is not to make everyone a sustainability specialist. The aim is to help teams ask better questions, make stronger decisions and move forward with credibility.
